Derrick Wright is Adele's touring drummer and musical director.[2] He began playing drums for her on her Adele Live tour in 2011 and has continued to do so on the Adele Live 2016 tour.
Wright's father was Reverend Timothy Wright, a well-known gospel musician.[3]
In addition to his work with Adele, Wright has also played drums for Toni Braxton and Talia.[4] When not touring with other artists, Wright is the frontman of Derrick Wright & Driven, a Christian-based gospel group.[5]
Wright is one of only two members of Adele's band to be with her during all three of her headlining tours, the other being guitarist Ben Thomas.
